SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA. – Cal Poly Corporation’s Marketing and Communications department recently took home six international MarCom awards for programs, campaigns and materials promoting outstanding staff and new initiatives performed by the International Center, Administration and Finance, Campus Dining and the corporation.

The team earned two platinum and four gold awards. Administered by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals, the MarCom awards is one of the oldest, largest, most respected creative competitions in the world. There were over 6,000 entries from throughout the United States, Canada, and 43 other countries

Given to only 18 percent of recipients, the two platinum awards recognized campus wide campaigns. The first was awarded for a campaign in support of Facilities Energy, Utilities, and Sustainability’s CalRecycle grant program that helped decrease recycling contamination on campus by 15 percent.

The second platinum was in recognition of the Cal Poly Extended Education marketing team’s promotion of International Education Week.

Gold awards were in recognition of:

  • Public Safety’s Rave Guardian App launch marketing campaign
  • Administration and Finance’s Annual Report website
  • Cal Poly Corporation’s Via Carta Mural Project strategic communications program
  • Campus Dining’s Welcome Box marketing materials
