SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – Cal Poly Catering has brought home gold, for the catering online menu division of the 2014 Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards Contest. This contest is put on by the National Association of College and University Food Services and serves as a way for university dining programs to gain national recognition and share their knowledge and creativity with others.
Cal Poly Catering was given top scores for the menu’s creative design and style, photography, array of attractive menu choices, and zero waste catering policy.
Cal Poly plans on competing in the 2015 Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards under the Catering-Special Event category. Their submission will showcase Cal Poly’s farming culture and pride.
Named for a NACUFS founder, the Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards celebrate exemplary menus, presentations, special event planning, and new dining concepts. Each year’s contest entries are displayed at the NACUFS national conference and recognized at a luncheon. Grand Prize winners also receive recognition with a feature article in NACUFS’ magazine, Campus Dining Today.
