SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA — Campus Dining has announced the winner of the Burger Bar Recipe Contest: The Volcano Burger.
The Volcano Burger consists of a pepper jack filled patty, jalapeño relish, Sriracha mayo, melted provolone, and sourdough bun.
The Burger Bar Recipe Contest was open to all Cal Poly students. Business sophomore, Ian Taylor, created the winning recipe.
Taylor found his passion for cooking as a child, and continues to while studying at Cal Poly. Taylor found the inspiration for his recipe while grilling the weekend before the contest, and decided to enter. The Volcano Burger plays off of Taylor’s love for pepper jack cheese and spicy food.
“I was ecstatic when I found out I won! The contest has been an awesome way for me to share my passion for burgers with everyone,” said Taylor.
The Volcano Burger will be available at the Burger Bar beginning Tuesday, May 26, for $9.95. The Burger Bar accepts Plu$ Dollars, Campus Express, and all major debit and credit cards.
