San Luis Obispo, CA — The University Store has updated their website in order to enhance the user experience. The graphic redesign makes navigating the website more efficient and pleasing to users, as well as reflects the University Store’s mission of supporting student success. The website features Cal Poly students and alumni photographed at well-known campus locations. It also features more Cal Poly branded products as well as fifty items that were added to the online store for users to purchase.
“The goal was to bring the offline experience of the University Store online,” said Lynnette Held, Interim Director of the University Store.
For the redesign, the University Store teamed up with a BUS 470 class to track analytics involved with website traffic flow. The University Store used the students’ research and recommendations to modify the website in order to make for a better user experience and to increase visits.
The University Store’s new website graphics is phase 1 of the website redesign, with phase 2 beginning in the fall. Phase 2 plans to add new and updated website content including enriched information about textbooks for faculty, students and parents. The complete website update will focus on creating more timely and relevant content for the user.
