SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA — On Thursday, April 9 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sarah Nimroozi, winner of the Ciao! pizza contest, will be signing pizza boxes in Ciao! for all customers who buy a slice of her winning pizza. Ciao! will also be offering a special of buy one slice of the winning pizza and get another for $1 off.
Nimroozi’s Philly Cheese Steak pizza recipe took first place out of 98 recipe submissions in the month of January. Her pizza will be featured on the Ciao! menu all of spring quarter.
Nimroozi is a first year industrial engineering major from Orange County. She loves to rock climb, cook, and swim. Her inspiration for the pizza came from thinking of her favorite sandwiches. Nimroozi works at Red Radish, right across from Ciao!. “I long for Ciao! behind the Red Radish counter.” Her favorite item from Ciao! is the chorizo goat cheese pizza.
Ciao! is the official pizza stop on campus, serving 1500 pizzas weekly. Every pizza is made with homemade sauce and freshly pressed pizza dough. Ciao! features specialty and traditional pizzas, calzones, salads, and a pasta of the week.
